Raven ZZ tolerates low, medium, and bright indirect light, making it one of the most versatile houseplants available. For the darkest foliage, bright indirect light is ideal. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade the leaves.
2. Water
This plant is famously drought-tolerant. Water only when the soil is completely dry, typically every 2–3 weeks depending on conditions. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the pot has good drainage.
3. Humidity
Normal household humidity is perfect. Raven ZZ does not require any special humidity boosts.
4. Temperature
Thrives in 65–85°F (18–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
5. Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix, ideally blended with perlite or sand. A cactus or succulent mix also works well.
6. Fertilizer
Feed sparingly. Apply a diluted balanced fertilizer once a month during spring and summer. No feeding is needed in fall and winter.
